I'm not really satisfied with that kind of tools for my desktop even if they look pretty nice but I think this would be great for a handheld device. It's my android devices I always wonder if I could just install skins for them, but unfortunately there are no solutions atm I regard as simple enough (or at least the last time i checked).

but hexagonal stuff just looks too great not to use it. Looks like a nice tool though

more so just practice. i figure by the time i'm able to build the ultimate rainmeter set for myself, it'll have been a few years and the kick ass touch screen tech will be nice and cheap. that's where i imagine this kind of stuff working real well. i do feel like i'm losing out on putting similar things to use as i still refuse to get a cell phone. i would like to get into interfaces more though.

sounds like a very good plan. I still wonder what device evolution has in it's backhand for us. I mean all these big screens would not work very well with touch features (imagine having aching muscles from using your pc, because scrolling from top to the bottom of a page is similar to a workout), and also there supposedly is a problem with currently used raw-materials.
I am curious when the first good useable screenless solution appears, what would be a great advancement.

If you're interested in user interfaces, especially because you don't own a phone, I'd recommend checking this page out. It's an emulated Android, able to boot on your pc from a cd. (It's so easy to use that even I achieved it), and the later versions are still a joy to use, even if it seems somewhat pointless on a pc when you're not an app developer.

i think once project glass hits that the next generation of devices will be very interesting. probably some sort of heat sensors to fake touch screen tech. i'll check out the emulated android though, that sounds sweet. hopefully i can expand into other interfaces besides rainmeter. everything will need digital interfaces eventually.
